Hero of the Right

Throughout our history, there have always been spirited debates about what our country's responsibilities are or should be — even back in the very early days of the Revolution. Indeed, there's been a lively debate in every decade of my adult life — throughout the Cold War, before. And to be sure, there is heated debate today.
Many of you may be aware that I keep a photograph on my desk under glass. It's a satellite image taken at night of the Korean peninsula. And I think they're going to put one up, if they have one.
It's powerful.

Hm. I just wonder how lenient you'd be if I'd said the same thing.

Who gives a shit?
What do you think of Rummy's quote cryMRU???

Fine, I could completely take the piss because that was a completely pathetic, infantile thing to be saying. Sounds like you completely gave in.

"What do you think of Rummy's quote cryMRU??? "

I've always thought he's a completely unrelenting prick, who never admits his mistakes, cannot string a sentence together, and sold weapons to (and personally met) Saddam Hussein.

But I don't think much of his quote to be honest. I'm sure that north Korea, as any other country he cherry picked, would be the next to install American-style 'democracy', as has worked so brilliantly in Iraq.

And just because he uses this historical,'heroic' narrative doesn't make it either. I imagine he's had photos of Grenada, Guatemala, Cuba, Iran, the offices of Al-Jazeera (remember that TV station that you labelled 'terrorist'?) and Venezuela too. And France. And he probably whips it out with much hysteria anytime France says something to piss America off!

FINALLY a decent quote cryMRU...

I've always thought he's a completely unrelenting prick,"
No shit. He was the boss and was SUPPOSED to be "a competely unreleting prick".
Duhhhh...

"cannot string a sentence together,"
He strung that sentence together pretty fucking well...

"and sold weapons to (and personally met) Saddam Hussein."
Sold weapons to Iran too...
What's wrong?
Do you now prefer Bush's method of dealing with Islamic tyranny to Reagan's???

But I don't think much of his quote to be honest.
Don't worry. I believe you.

I'm sure that north Korea, as any other country he cherry picked,"
*snicker*
"He", "cherry picked", huh?

would be the next to install American-style 'democracy',
Out of all the countries oppressed by tyrannic dictators, North Korea ranks high on the list... NOT because Rummy decided it, but because of logistical reality...
Idiot.

as has worked so brilliantly in Iraq."
Now you prefer Reagan approach to containing Islamic terror???

And just because he uses this historical,'heroic' narrative doesn't make it either.
I disagree. He's historically heroic...
After all, on 9-11 Rummy had to literally survive the incompetence of the Clinton administration ...

I imagine he's had photos of Grenada, Guatemala, Cuba, Iran, the offices of Al-Jazeera (remember that TV station that you labelled 'terrorist'?) and Venezuela too.
Who could have imagined he had a photos. And classified ones too...

"And France."
Well, who trusts the French anyway?

"And he probably whips it out with much hysteria anytime France says something to piss America off!"
When did America start giving a shit about what France says...

More like zero of the right.

Rumsfeld, oh what a way to end a career...in disgrace! Forced to resign by the US high command, beautiful!

Interesting that when Robert Gates replaced him he mentioned that North Korea is NOT on the list of countries to engage with militarily.

Because the times they are a changing....

Yes, but admitting that you're wrong sometimes helps. Unlike Donald "if you fly over Iraq most of it isn't on fire" Rumsfeld!

"Sold weapons to Iran too...
What's wrong?
Do you now prefer Bush's method of dealing with Islamic tyranny to Reagan's???"

This is the point: it's complete hypocrisy. They're both wrong.

"Out of all the countries oppressed by tyrannic dictators, North Korea ranks high on the list... NOT because Rummy decided it, but because of logistical reality...
Idiot."

Wow. America is so altruistic isn't it! Globally fighting for the little man aren't they?

"I disagree. He's historically heroic..."

Lol. I love the idea of Rumsfeld being "historically heroic"! I very much doubt that history will smile upon this man.

"When did America start giving a shit about what France says..."

Because France is a sovereign democracy! But of course, that doesn't matter because the French are always wrong because they oppose America, always.
