Shrouded in Darkness
Am I the only one that can see the hideous irony of a candlelight vigil in support of the regime that continues to keep an entire country in the dark?
The next Korean war may be one of words. Or one of nuclear weapons. Democracy will rise as tyranny is incinerated. We must free the oppressed people of North Korea. We must topple Kim Jong Il.

you should hold a candlelight vigel for the Arizona Cardinals after Brian Urlacher single handedly destroyed a franchise on national tv, they might as well move too LA so Leinhart won't waste away in the desert

Making for the most left of all the idiodic leftist statements ever...
Look at Mongolia: it keeps it's people in the dark too.
From Wikipedia:
S. Korea population density 1274/square mile
N. Korea population density 492/square mile
Mongolia population density 4.4 /square mile
To put it into perspective Mongolia has 2.3 times the land mass of Alberta and only 1.7 people per square kilometer versus Alberta's 4.7 people per square kilometer. Needless to say, not a lot of folks there to put the lights on in Mongolia. So I am not exactly sure what cymru wanted to say. (Btw, Mongolia is a parliamentary democracy).
Hey here's a cool comment from the Sun Online page:
"North Korea has the right to have nuclear weapons, if america does and britian does then why not them? buish is just as crazy as that kim jong eel geezer."
If only we could harness the power of stupidity, we could send people that make remarks like this to North Korea or Iran. They'd then have no reason whatsoever to pursue "nuclear technology for peaceful purposes" as their energy supply would be plentiful. I just hope they wouldn't turn around and try to export their newfound energy back to us...
I was just commenting that Mongolia doesn't have much light. Nor do many other third world countries. Do you think they are all evil countries trying to keep their populations in the dark too?
" (Btw, Mongolia is a parliamentary democracy). "
And?
Cymru, it is not possible to draw comparisons to the situation of a lack of light in North Korea to countries which have found themselves to be sparsely populated or involuntarily third world by misfortunes of nature, geography, and corruption in government. North Korea is dark only because the unfortunate people are subjugated by an evil and anti-human leader, political system, and government. Considering what neighbours Mongolia to the south, I find that Mongolia being a parliamentary democracy simply amazing.
(Do you think they are all evil countries trying to keep their populations in the dark too?) No. I got the impression you were trying to say that in your post bringing Mongolia into the equation. I shall conclude that we both agree, North Korea is dark because of communism and Kim Jong Il.
"North Korea is dark only because the unfortunate people are subjugated by an evil and anti-human leader, political system, and government."
I would disagree. It is obviously not the paramount system, but such factors as lack of arable land (especially compared to the South) and bad harvests have taken their toll. This is not directed at you specifically, but I find it strange when people seem to blame every single wrongdoing in the area on the government. Some things cannot be controlled.
"I shall conclude that we both agree, North Korea is dark because of communism and Kim Jong Il. "
I wouldn't agree with that being the sole reason myself.
It's reasons like that why ironman accuses me of supporting north Korea and being a communist, which I've never understood.
