Bilateral waste...

DPRK Delegation Leaves for Talks with Japan
Pyongyang, February 4, 2006 (KCNA) -- A DPRK government delegation led by Song Il Ho,
Sounds like a gansta rap track to me...

ambassador in charge of DPRK-Japan talks of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, left here today for Beijing to attend the DPRK-Japan intergovernmental talks for the normalization of bilateral relations. It was seen off at the airport by officials concerned and the Chinese ambassador to the DPRK. There is simply nothing normal about the relationship between Japan and North Korea. The current strain on relations exists only due to the policies of the DPRK.

Aaah, KnitGord, are you sure that's the ONLY reason??? Wouldn't be anything to do with, I don't know, Koreans holding a bit of a grudge over that whole invasion/occupation thing?

Even South Korea and Japanese relations are strained. You might remember the trouble last year with Text books in Japan, and the Japanese refusing to "apologise" for the past.

I'd suggest that NK (being free of American influence) has a lot more room to be up front about it's enmity towards Japan.

You beat me to it,spott.

Also the fact that the Japanese heads of state still visit the shrines of war criminals have a part to play. Can you imagine Angela Merkel visiting the graves of Hitler and Himmler?!

A "grudge", like the Japanese have over America NUKING their country?

"Even South Korea and Japanese relations are strained." If that relationship is "strained", then the relationship between North Korea and Japan OR South Korea, is a total meltdown by comparison.

"I'd suggest that NK (being free of American influence) has a lot more" Anti-Japanese propaganda. A fuck of a lot more(not to say the KCNA isn't Anti-South Korean also)

Yea, so relations between North Korea and the Western world would be completly normalized if Japanese leaders would only heed visits to Japanese war memorials. This issue has a real big "part to play" in the liberation of millions of North Korean citizens.

"Can you imagine Angela Merkel visiting the graves of Hitler and Himmler?!" I can't imagine those two losers even have gravestones... But I can imagine Schroder visiting.

No, but it is one of the many reasons why so many of the neighbouring countries, not just DPRK, are pissed off with them.

" But I can imagine Schroder visiting. "

Why, because he's (shock, horror)a liberal? If so, then that makes no rational sense.

Sorry about that cymru....

Hoy Hoy, KnitGord

"A "grudge", like the Japanese have over America NUKING their country?"

Well yeah? Have you ever watched any anime, or read manga? As you've obviously not had the oppurtunity (or taken it) to interact with Japanese people, you'd have a better idea of Japanese thoughts on World War 2. And how the American occupation shaped those thoughts.

I can only hope that the elite in Japan keep the memory alive. That Japanese government and corporation will one day get the Yanks back for that. Wouldn't that be glorious??? Imagine it: like Revenge of the Sith... "Execute order 66". I can only hope.

"If that relationship is "strained", then the relationship between North Korea and Japan OR South Korea, is a total meltdown by comparison."

America DOES cause a lot of problems doesn't it?

"Anti-Japanese propaganda. A fuck of a lot more(not to say the KCNA isn't Anti-South Korean also)"

Funny that South Korea and Japan are glorified military bases for America. But that's a military strategy (which you're not too informed about) that is aimed at China.

"Yea, so relations between North Korea and the Western world would be completly normalized if Japanese leaders would only heed visits to Japanese war memorials. This issue has a real big "part to play" in the liberation of millions of North Korean citizens."

Between NORTH KOREA and JAPAN was the topic wasn't it? And no, it wouldn't be a miracle cure, but it would be a start wouldn't it? A step in the RIGHT direction. But regardless of the North, it DEFINITELY would improve relations between Japan and South Korea, Japan and China....

"I can't imagine those two losers even have gravestones... But I can imagine Schroder visiting."

Hitlers grave: isn't that in Argentina? Himmlers: An unknown location in Lüneburg Heath. Seems they kept the sites a secret so fanatical Nazis like Prescott Bush and Henry Ford couldn't turn them into shrines....

I'd visit them. Wouldn't that, (in your "wingnut" world view) make me a RIGHT winger? As in Right Wing Fascist, Right Wing Nazi etc.... I get a little confused when YOU call "Nazi supporters" left wingers....

Also, off topic, would you care to share your thoughts about the Saddam-funding prime minister of Australia??? I am genuinely interested. Every day the scandal grows bigger.

Your talking about fucking cartoons Right?

"Funny that South Korea and Japan are glorified military bases for America." Yes, gloriously prosperous and free military bases...

"But that's a military strategy (which you're not too informed about) that is aimed at China", the land freedom forgot.

"Hitlers grave: isn't that in Argentina?" Ugggh! Time to put my tinfoil hat back on...

"I'd visit them. Wouldn't that, (in your "wingnut" world view) make me a RIGHT winger?"

Knitwit,

You aren’t very smart are you? You can’t argue a single point you are like a child.

“Your talking about fucking cartoons Right?”

Yeah he’s talking about fucking cartoons you moron, can’t you read? The Japanese anime contributes to a higher percentage of total Japanese films than cartoons would in the western world, so for them it’s a little more important than being just cartoons. Many of the cartoons have an A-bomb, war, Shogun, empire or “alien invaders” theme. Almost every Hayo Miazaki film has war/empire theme and they are kid’s movies.

Ask a 70 year old Japanese person what was going on during the war, they might tell you about civilians catching on fire and drowning in a nearby river while trying to extinguish themselves, yes civilians. You don’t think that they may have some hard feelings about that? They don’t “dig” America as much as you think, and Canada is inconsequential to them....not even a real country anyway.....

But that is Japan, another country that you couldn’t be fucked getting up off your fat arse and visiting so you wouldn’t know squat about that either.

When are you going to get some real courage about North Korea and go there? You can tell Dear Leader all your problems in person.
