Step Higher

SEOUL (AFX) September 12 2005 - North Korea has stepped up its anti-US rhetoric, accusing Washington of clouding the prospects of six-party talks on its nuclear weapons program which resume this week. The North said through its ruling party newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, that the US was hurting its dialogue partner by listing it 'unreasonably' as violating an international convention against biological weapons.

Would rationality NOT dictate that being "falsely" accused of having a NUCLEAR weapons program would rate as more "offensive"? But hey, North Korea only denies having nukes SOMETIMES...Unlike biological weapons, I guess.

'The United States would be well advised to stop such rash acts as hurting its dialogue partner in a bid to chill the climate for building confidence between the DPRK (North Korea) and the US and becloud the prospects of the six-way talks and the settlement of the nuclear issue,' it said.

How does America build "confidence" in a government that has roughly 15-20% of its "state run only" "media" devoted to propagandizing hate against it?

In a separate dispatch, the North's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) called for the withdrawal of US troops from South Korea, calling them 'the root cause of instability' in the region. 'If the US truly stands for detente and peace in and around the peninsula, it should behave itself swimming with the strong trend towards peace in the region and take a bold decision to withdraw its forces, the root cause of instability in the peninsula, from South Korea at an early date,' it said.

The policies of Kim Jong Il's "government" ARE the "root causes" of ALL North Korean problems.
