SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea said on Monday last week's U.N. vote chastising the impoverished communist state for human rights abuses was part of a Western and Japanese plot to topple its leaders.

A U.N. General Assembly committee on Thursday approved a resolution expressing concern over reported human rights violations in North Korea, including torture, public executions and maintaining a network of political prisons.
"We regard the recent human rights resolution (as) no more than (the) barking of a dog at the moon," a spokesman for North Korea's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"The present U.S. administration with inveterate enmity toward the DPRK has put spurs to its moves to realize the absurd attempt at a 'regime change' under the signboard of 'human rights'," the spokesman said in a statement carried by the official KCNA news agency.

And I am "noting", that America is the sole resposibility for all of North Korean's problems and NONE of South Korea's success... In the eyes of the Korean Centeral "News" Agency.
i'm not arguing against that point. i'm saying that america has been on north korea's doorstep for 50 odd years, and therefore is not "halfway across the globe" in their eyes.
