Rodong Sinmun Observes Anniversary of Youth League
Pyongyang, January 17, 2006 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today devotes an editorial to the 60th anniversary of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League.
This particular strain of propaganda has been prevalent throughout the K.C.N.A for the last two weeks. I guess we should and figure out what it has to say to the youth of North Korea, since it's obvious this is the ONLY media any of them are exposed to...
The editorial says: President Kim Il Sung formed a mighty organization of youth embracing all young people of different North Korean strata on Jan. 17, Juche 35 (1946) on the basis of the precious achievements and experience gained in the days of the anti-Japanese revolution. It was a historic event which brought about a radical downward turn in the development of the Korean revolution and the youth movement and in the political life of the youth. The 60-year-long history of the youth league is a proud one in which the league set a brilliant example in the settlement of the youth problem to concentration camps under the outstanding leadership of the Party and the leader and performed undying feats for the country and the people in van of the drive for glorifying Korean-style socialism. It's kinda hard to when no one outside of the country has ever seen it... The heroic struggle and immortal feats of the youth have been recorded in the history of the Korean revolution which has emerged victorious under the banner of Songun only. It is the firm faith of the young vanguard in the present times to devotedly defend the Party and the leader in the van and make a long journey of the Songun revolution guided by leader Kim Jong Il to the last, holding high the torch of revolution kindled by him. Nobody can match the Korean youth in insane loyalty to their leaders, a noble sense of moral obligation, staunch ideology, steadfast revolutionary faith, organizational ability and the might of unity. The youth league should be strengthened into that of the President. The young people should be staunch and dauntless fighters who go only along the road indicated by Kim Jong Il and make a long journey of the Songun revolution to the last, following him. All the youths should fully demonstrate the revolutionary stamina of the young vanguard in the general march for the Songun revolution with their extraordinary determination to perform outstanding feats in defending and glorifying socialism and building a great prosperous powerful nation. Ugggh. Imagine subjecting the lil' ones to nothing but this. That's Kim Jong Il for ya...

I think Howard Dean and Kim Jong Il are twins seperated at birth. They are both crazy.
from the article: "...perform outstanding feats in defending and glorifying socialism and building a great prosperous powerful nation..."
Hmm, I guess one of the feats would include having to eat grass in order to stay alive.
Good point scwarze tulpe.
Only outside intervention will change the plight of the average North Korean...
I would love to see how successful such an invasion would be.
Good point KnightofGoodMrIronMan,
Only outside intervention will change the plight of the average Canadian who wishes he was an American...and American for that matter.

It simply wouldn’t be, otherwise the US who sees North Korea as a “threat,” “Outpost of Tyranny,” and “Bearer of WMD and aide to terror networks,” would have acted by now, right? Time of choosing and all that jazz...Oh, War with North Korea...that would be messy, just like the first time. Successful? I think not, the US army is outstretched as it is. A War with North Korea would be a greater blunder than Iraq and Vietnam combined.

I liked your comment Matthew, even if I agreed with little of it...

They have "acted" dude. The U.S has always been the sole protector of South Korean freedom. Kinda like with Canada.

What would happen if South Korea unilaterally dropped it's Nothern Defence and open the border to North Korean refugees? What would be the result? A war? The fall of the R.O.K? Or the Kim Jong Il toppled? I predict it would be the latter, but the other alternatives are not appealing, are they?
Cutting the head off Dear Leader, is the most humane and effective policy for the people of North Korea.
Dude, I would NEVER play "Korean Trivial Pursuit" with you....lol
Keep up the good work bud...
Dino
Eh, Thanks dude.
I love it when serious LOONleftICS stop by...

KnightofGoodMrIronMan,
Left, left? Oh you think I’m a part of a group, something you can identify, now that’s funny...
I wonder do you write anything apart from a sentence at the end of every copied story you post that says: “North Korea is bad.”
Matthew
LOONleftICS.
Wow!What a great pun!
Matthew judging by your blog you can't even be considering a leftwinger more like a Anti-american Commie
BIGBOZ
Left, left? Oh you think I’m a part of a group, something you can identify," Yea, that group is called "loser"...
"now that’s funny..."
I wonder do you write anything apart from a sentence at the end of every copied story you post that says: “North Korea is bad.”
Well, I have to assume you noticed the words "Comments" under each post. What this means is any person can discuss any copied story at any length they want. If you don't like me mixing smart-ass comments with current K.C.N.A releases, I suggest another site.
I recommend a blog that has world class examples of losers in their natural habitat, like one that has
"Iraq Reconstruction Score:
Saddam: 1
Bush: 0"
p.s: Today the Good and Righteous John Howard phoned the new Prime Minister elect of Canada, Stephen Harper. Obviously I am a huge fan of Mr. Howard, and the New York Times just wrote an article explaining why Harper's politics is very simialr to that of John Howard. Great times to be a Right-winger...
I think the Reason that America is SHIT SCARED OF NORTH KOREA is the fact that THEY HAVE THE BOMB TOO!
Tell me one Nuclear-armed country America has had the BALLS to invade. The only reason the Cowardly Americans went for Iraq is because they were 100% certain that Iraq had NO WMDs.
It's really very obvious when you think about it.
And I really throw down the gauntlet on that. Name ONE nuclear power America could realistically take on. And you'll come up with nothing. The Bully-boy in the Schoolyard only picks on the weak ones.... Maybe I'm wrong on this. But I don't think so.
If so, PROVE IT!!!
"Great times to be a Right-winger... "
It's also a great time to be a left winger, now that Latin America will fall to the left and create an independent anti neo-liberal economic bloc. They'll be allied with those terrorists Chavez and Castro!
Spott...
Extremly interesting comment, with one fatal and obvious flaw...
"Name ONE nuclear power America could realistically take on."
The Soviet Union.
"And you'll come up with nothing."
I sure did.
"It's also a great time to be a left winger," No it's not. It never is.
"now that Latin America will fall to the left and create an independent anti neo-liberal economic bloc."
An "anti neo-liberal economic bloc"? Sounds a fuck-of-alot like Alberta to me...
""It's also a great time to be a left winger," No it's not. It never is."
Wow. Good one.
Soviet Union, aren’t you a little behind the times?
Matthew
"Name ONE nuclear power America could realistically take on."
The Soviet Union.
Could someone tell me why I am wrong please?
knightofwhatever,
"Could someone tell me why I am wrong please?"
Because the Soviet Union was dissolved fifteen years ago, you’re not exactly Mr. Current Events are you? You really ought to close down your silly self righteous cut and paste blog before you continue to embarrass yourself.
Matthew
"The Soviet Union.
Could someone tell me why I am wrong please?"
And exactly WHEN did America go to war (and win) against the Soviet Union? Directly?
And the reason why they didn't was MAD wasn't it?
